Caldwell County is located south of Austin, and is part of the Austin-San Marcos Metropolitan Area. Lockhart is the county seat.
Mission:  To provide quality, relevant, outreach and continuing education programs and services to the people of Caldwell County.

Extension brings the resources of the Texas A&M University System to Caldwell County. Through field based faculty, Extension provides unbiased, research-based information, educational programs, and technical assistance in the following core service areas:

  • Community & Economic Development
  • Environmental Stewardship
  • Health and Family Development
  • Youth Development

  • Major show Steer Tags March 18, 2014
    Deadline to order Major show (Major shows are Houston, San Antonio, Star of Texas , Fort Worth etc.) Steer tags is April 14, 2014 at the extension.   Steer Tags are $13.00 each.    Please make checks  payable to Caldwell 4-H Council.   If bringing cash please bring correct change.   Change is not kept in the office.   Thank you.
  • 2013 Summer Series! June 4, 2013
    Registration for the 2013 Caldwell County 4-H Summer Series if officially open. We have gotten lots of phone calls asking us to bring this back, and we are excited about the plans we have for this year.   • Caldwell County Junior Livestock show Beef entries May 24, 2013
    Beef entries (Market/Breeding)   will be June 17, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the Lockhart Auction Barn.    If you are planning to show beef in the CCJLS you must enter your beef project that day.    Major show steer validation will be the same day and time.
  • Show Turkey Orders May 2, 2013
    Deadline to order is July 8, 2013.   You may come by the office and order between now and July 8, 2013.  These are for turkeys which will be shown at CCJLS, San Antonio, Houston, or Star of Texas.
